In the age of Internet and social media it's very easy for like-minded people to find a common ground and together raise their voice to change things. While this could be used for charities and social issues, in later days, it's become common practice for people to use this to change things about their TV shows.

Case and point: the much-debated ending of the hit sitcom “How I Met Your Mother” that aired this week and left the majority of fans with a bad taste in their mouth. A resourceful few decided to vent their frustration by starting a petition on Change.org and make the producers change the ending into what they thought would be more suitable for the show.

After the finale managed to gather 12.9 million people in front of their TV screens on Monday evening to see the first meeting between Ted and the future mother of his children, the episode made more enemies than friends out of those loyal fans.

Mostly to blame were the unexpected plot twists that simply left viewers stunned beyond words and, thus, unable to enjoy the ending of the comedy series. It didn't take long for a petition to be created online demanding that the ending be re-shot and adding, “You know it's just wrong.”

At the moment, the petition has over 7,000 signatures, indicating that a great number of people are willing to go all the way to change the ending into something that they have been envisioning for the nine years they've been watching the show.

For those of you that agree with this point, here is the link to the petition that could potentially get CBS to reshoot the final episode according to the wishes of fans.
