After she was booted from X Factor last weekend, Gamu Nhengu also learned that she and her family had only a few days to leave the UK or face deportation. Fans have shown up at her house to show their support.

The debate around Cheryl Cole’s choice of finalists continues to rage on – but, all this time, Gamu needs to pack up and move back with her family to her native Zimbabwe, as we also informed you yesterday.

Aside from showing their support online, via several Facebook groups and on Twitter, some fans have also decided to show up at the singer’s house to show her she was not alone in this, the Daily Mail informs.

Of course, because of the large number of fans that came (about 400) and given that they were blocking traffic, police had to intervene to close down a few streets and ensure that things didn’t get out of hand.

“The hundreds lining this usually quiet Scottish street had come to support rejected X Factor contestant Gamu Nhengu as she began a battle to stay in the UK,” the Mail says.

“Police cordoned off the road as more than 400 fans gathered outside the 18-year-old’s home in Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire,” the same report says.

While Gamu is reportedly having a very hard time trying to come to terms with the idea that she’s been told to leave the UK and go back to Zimbabwe, her mom’s attorney is already working on having the decision overturned.

As we also told you the other day, Gamu’s mother applied for an extension on her visa in August but only heard back from the Home Office yesterday, to learn that her petition had been denied and she couldn’t appeal it.

It is believed that, for the past 8 years, Nokuthula Ngazana, Gamu’s mother, claimed child tax credit and working tax credit, which she shouldn’t have.

“We wish to stress that while this is pending no steps can be taken to remove our client or her family from the UK,” solicitor Frances Farrell tells the Mail about her appeal to have the decision reviewed and, ultimately, overturned.
