Though she tries to keep a very low profile both when out on personal reasons and when on the set of a new film, Angelina Jolie attracts paparazzi like a magnet. Her appeal is doubled by Johnny Depp’s presence on the set of “The Tourist,” which would explain why hundreds of fans showed up to take pictures and perhaps get an autograph, thus forcing producers to wrap shooting earlier, a Wenn report says.

Fans know that Jolie recently relocated to Venice, Italy, with her entire family (partner Brad Pitt and their six children), in order to be able to work on the film, with shooting estimated to take about 3 months. Since the film went into production, paparazzi have turned into a fixture around sets, always snapping away at both Jolie and her co-star, Johnny Depp. However, this was the first time when so many fans gathered on set with the same purpose, of taking pictures.

“Filming on the Venice, Italy set of Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp’s new movie The Tourist ground to a halt on Wednesday (17Mar10) after hordes of fans turned up eager to catch a glimpse of the Hollywood superstars at work. The actors began production on the thriller, a remake of 2005 French film Anthony Zimmer, in Paris, France in February (10) before moving to Venice earlier this month (Mar10) to continue shooting,” Wenn says.

Despite no official statement from the movie studio, reports suggest the entire crew packed up and left for home when faced with the hundreds of fans eager to take a picture with either or both stars. “According to TMZ, cameras had to stop rolling on Wednesday after huge crowds of devotees showed up at the location, forcing producers to wrap early due to safety concerns,” the same news agency further informs.

Another star who also had serious issues with fans invading the movie set just recently was Robert Pattinson who, last summer, was literally mobbed while in New York City while shooting for the drama “Remember Me,” now playing in theaters around the world. Eventually, the movie studio reinforced security on the set to block fans from gaining access to it, which will probably also happen in the case of Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp.
