Microsoft has offered a statement about the recent teasers concerning a possible Halo 2 Anniversary edition for the Xbox One, saying that fans are reading too much into the different leaks.

Microsoft and its 343 Industries studio confirmed Halo 5: Guardians for a fall 2015 launch on the Xbox One and many fans are thinking about the rumored Halo 2 Anniversary to be this year's new release in the series.

Backing up such a possibility are different teaser images offered by Microsoft's officials in recent weeks, with the most recent one being a photo from Xbox Live Community Manager Larry Hryb of Halo 2 running on a Microsoft tablet, in order to promote the compatibility of the Xbox One controller with the PC platform.

While talking with fans on Reddit, Hryb emphasized that fans may be reading too much into this teaser.

"As far as what is on my screen, many of you are reading too much into my intention. Halo 2 Vista is what I had available to test the controller," he said.

As such, while Halo 2 Anniversary is certainly a possible announcement that's going to appear from Microsoft's press conference at E 3 2014 on June 9, don't hold your breath.
