It is made for industrial applications and relies on an Ivy Bridge processor

Consumer PC makers have been going on about Intel's Haswell fourth-generation Core-Series CPUs for weeks, but the new chips aren't catching on so quickly on other market layers.

Case in point, the new system launched by Stealth Computer has a hardware configuration designed around an Intel Core i7 Ivy bridge CPU (third-generation).

Said computer is called Fanless Mini PC model LPC-700F and combines the benefits of the i7 Processor 3610QE CPU with those of 16 GB of DDR3 RAM (random access memory) and an SSD (solid-state drive) of 128 GB.

"Our new Stealth Model: LPC-700F is the most powerful and technologically advanced fanless PC we have introduced to date. Our full featured machine features built in PCI or PCIe expansion card slots for applications requiring additional expansion capability," stated Ed Boutilier CEO of Stealth.com Inc.

Despite the high-end CPU, the large memory capacity and the newcomer's intended role as industrial rugged PC, the LPC-700F has no fans.

That's right, Stealth made it so that it dissipated heat fanlessly, eliminating any possibility of noise. The case is made of aluminum that doubles as a heatsink.

Moving on, LPC-700F boasts three video outputs (VGA, DVI, HDMI), four USB 3.0 ports, six RS232/Serial connectors, two Gigabit Ethernet LAN connectors, an built-in PCI or PCIe expansion slot capability (only one slot is available, parallel to the “main” motherboard).

All in all, the product has everything it needs to serve as part of Digital Signs, Kiosks, Mobile Navigation Systems, POS (point of sale) & Human/Machine Interface devices, Embedded Control Systems, and Thin-Clients.

Sadly, the base price is a rather painful $1,995 / €1,559 – 1,995. And since 16 GB of RAM is only the maximum amount, the tag can go even higher. One can only wonder what price will be demanded for something with a larger SSD.
