Movie ticket app Fandango just got its latest big update on iOS, giving both iPhone and iPad users the cool Spotlight section featuring new look for movie and content cards, as well as a new rating system and ticketing information icons.

“We've made your Fandango mobile experience even more exciting,” says the developer.

Fandango version 6.0 brings the Spotlight carousel to both iPhone and iPad, delivering movie and content cards, a revamped rating system, ticketing information icons, and more. The UI upgrade expands to the rest of the app with all-new movie pages, theater lists, and more.

Users can now sign in to their Fandango account using Facebook or Google+ (right now only iPhone users can do this, iPad customers have to wait for another update), and newcomers can create a new account right within the app “for one-tap purchases and to save your favorite theaters,” according to Fandango.

The free app allows users to filter movies by genre, MPAA rating, and format (including IMAX and 3D), watch trailers, exclusive interviews, and cast photos, read Fandango fan ratings and reviews, get scores from Metacritic, etc.

Fandango Movies 6.0 requires iOS 6 and works with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPad second generation, iPad third generation, iPad fourth generation, iPad Air, iPad mini, iPad mini with Retina display, iPod touch fourth generation, and iPod touch fifth generation.
