Google Glass is still very experimental. Few people own the device, and even fewer get any meaningful usage out of it.

However, this is why Google opted for a gradual rollout – it wants to polish the experience and find out what works and what doesn't in the real world, before pushing Glass through the retail channels.

This also gives developers the opportunity to experiment with the device and build for it without the pressure of having something useful or practical at this very moment.

Developers have to start understanding what Glass can do just as much as regular users, and even Google itself, have to.

But that's not to say practical apps aren't coming out. While we'll have to wait a bit longer for facial recognition or "adult content" apps, there's now an "enhanced" shopping app for Glass.

It's called Fancy and it is actually quite fancy. Users can snap a photo of something they like, something they see in a shop or on someone, and the app tries to find a similar or the same product online.

Users can then simply buy that product with Glass and be done with it. Granted, that will get most Glass owners banned from most shops pretty fast, but it's an interesting concept.

It's not a new one, mind you; things like these have been around online for a while. Google itself has experimented with the technology for a some time, but it didn't go far.

"Fancy is the place where you discover, collect, and buy from a crowd-curated catalog of amazing goods, wonderful places and innovative stores," Fancy describes itself.

The good news is that you can get the app even if you don't have Google Glass, as it's available for smartphones already. In fact, you can't actually get the Glass version of the app just yet, it's still pending approval.
