Famous Lives and Famous Break-Ups

They met on the set of 'Sahara' in 2005 and they went out for a year. They were, and still are, beautiful and talented and, yet, they didn't manage to cope with all the stress that such a public relationship implies.

After having tried to lead a life that required them sharing their time between two continents, as Penelope is very family-oriented and spends a lot of time in Spain, their busy schedules have finally had their say.

Only a few months ago, they got into all the newspapers with rumors about Penelope's being pregnant and about intending to start a little family of their own. Matthew and Penelope gave a joint press release in which they stated that they decided to take some time off because it seems to be the best thing to do.

And, yet most people consider her 'crazy' for dumping 'the sexiest man alive'... But there are sources close to the couple that told the press the break-up might not be a permanent one. So, there's still hope...
