Family Stages Intervention to Get Jennifer Lopez Away from Casper Smart

Despite reports to the contrary, Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart are most likely still going strong. However, they're on a break of sorts right now, after her family staged an intervention to make her see she was rushing into things again.

It's been roughly a year since Jennifer first admitted to dating her backup dancer (now tour choreographer) Casper Smart who at 25 is her junior by 18 years.

Ever since they went public with the romance, talk of how she was rushing into things again didn't stop making the rounds. According to OK! Magazine, her family feels the same.

Jennifer has somewhat of a history of bad romances and even worse breakups, which has prompted a lot of talk about how she can't stay single for more than 2 months in a row.

Her family believes the same: Casper will only break her heart in the end because the two are rushing into the romance even though they're not ready for it, says a spy.

“Jen’s family is very protective of her, and they’re really concerned that she’s moving way too fast with Casper. It’s not that they have anything against Casper personally, but they’re concerned about the age gap, and are worried that Jen maybe getting in over her head,” an insider says for OK!.

So, the people around Jennifer got her to meet them all and voiced their worries, begging her to take some time off Casper.

“They just focused on the fact that Jennifer has a long history of moving too quickly when it comes to her relationships – which she can’t deny,” the source explains.

“Although Jennifer has been aware of her family’s concern, she was shocked when her mom, a sister and others sat her down to have a talk. It wasn’t an attack on Jennifer or even Casper – it was more like her family stepping in and trying to talk sense into her,” the source goes on to say.

“They know her history. She always goes from one serious relationship to the next, and they really want her to take her time with Casper,” adds the tipster.

As expected, though Lopez's initial reaction was outrage at the suggestion that she and Casper cool off for a while, she eventually realized that it came from the heart and she agreed to “put a little space between Casper and herself.”
