14 DAY TRIAL // Rocker Steven Tyler is probably getting ready to walk down the aisle soon. Reports have it that he popped the question to Erin Brady over the weekend – and his family is none too happy about it, TMZ has learned.
Official confirmation of the engagement hasn't been made yet, but photos of the two at the airport seem to provide enough fuel to keep the rumor mill turning, especially since Erin seems to be showing off an engagement ring in them.
TMZ says that, indeed, Steven did propose to her. Moreover, the reason he hasn't said anything publicly yet is because he was yet to let his family know – and he has good reasons for the delay too, it would seem.
“Steven Tyler's big engagement news did NOT go over so well with several members of his family who are telling friends they simply don't like his new fiancée,” the celebrity e-zine writes.
Problems between said family members and Erin go a long way back and the engagement will not make them go away overnight.
If anything, it seems to have made matters even worse.
“Sources connected to the Tyler clan tell us, several family members have clashed with Erin Brady for years and have told friends, 'She's just not nice',” the report further argues.
Another spy tells TMZ that Erin is “just mean to the family” and this is something she's not willing to work on to get along.
There's even more to the story, the same media outlet argues: Steven proposed to Erin over the weekend but didn't both to let his family know about his intentions of doing so.
They had to find out about it in the press.
“And to make matters worse – we're told several family members have griped that they had no idea about Steven's proposal plan until AFTER he popped the question to 38-year-old Brady this weekend... and they felt slighted by the omission,” TMZ writes.
The same source claims the family members were still hoping for a reconciliation, but this has just made things beyond repair now.
