Fame-Whoring with the Lohans

I must confess to you that the women in the Lohan family really scare me. I mean, really. Just look at them in this photo – they have a sort of desperate determination written all over their faces. They seem to be saying "we'll be famous no matter what, we'll bite and tear our way to fame and fortune and don't you dare stand in the way". Also, I find it very scary when a woman in her forties and her two young daughters – one aged 21, the other aged 14 – all look like they share the fake tans, the make-up and the beaten down expressions. Is it just me, or you can actually read the fame hunger in their eyes? Well, they don't have to wait much longer, since believe it or not, Dina Lohan's reality TV series is actually hitting our small screens this summer. Oh, joy...

"Viewers will go inside the Lohan’s Long Island home for the first time to follow Dina as she works double duty as mom and manager to help Ali try to follow in her big sister [Lindsay’s] famous footsteps", reads a press release for the show. So apparently, Dina is done with her full time pimping of Lindsay, and is moving on to her other daughter. And incidentally, I always find it extremely funny whenever someone talks about Ali becoming as famous as LiLo – for the very simple yet logical reason that if Lindsay was ever famous for anything else except drugs and booze, no one remembers it.

In the Lohan family tradition, Ali will also record an album (which will most likely tank) in Vegas. "Dina is determined to help each of her four kids fulfill their dreams and refuses to live in fear of what others may think, despite being under the paparazzi microscope", the same press release states. Yes, of course the boozy Lohan matriarch doesn't care about what others think. All those annoying statements that she likes to release every time her daughter either strips for yet another magazine or gets trashed in the papers for being an extra refined slut – she probably releases them by accident, right? In any case, prepare to see the Lohans in all their splendor (and laugh your a*s off at their expense) this summer. Now that's what I call quality TV.
