The upcoming downloadable content for Fallout: New Vegas, Dead Money, has been detailed by Bethesda, including information about its story and the new enemies that will be introduced by the add-on to the Fallout: New Vegas experience. As you all know, the anticipated role playing game has sold quite a lot of units since its launch, despite the array of glitches, bugs and problems encountered by players on all platforms.
Now, the development team at Obsidian is working hard on the first downloadable content for New Vegas, which
will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 console.
The new DLC is called "Dead Money", and will see its action take place in Sierra Madre, which was supposed to be the biggest casino ever to be opened in Nevada.
"Dead Money is set in the Sierra Madre, an opulent and extravagant resort that was supposed to be the greatest casino in the west – except that it never opened. Bombs fell before the gala opening, and the Sierra Madre froze in time, its state of the art security system locking the place up tight," revealed senior designer Chris Avellone.
The radiation cloud quickly spread to the casino and the city around it, making it extremely dangerous for anyone to explore it.
This radiation made it perfect for a new faction, called the Ghost People, which use hazmat suits to survive in the cloud of radiation and abduct people from the outside.
The main character of New Vegas, The Courier, will be able to find the new area thanks to a radio transmission that advertises the grand opening of the casino.
According to Avellone, players will encounter quite a few different characters in this DLC.
"This being an extension of Fallout: New Vegas, players will encounter several unique characters, each with their own motivations, all of whom will have to work together if any of them are going to survive. Aside from just struggling with their would-be companions, the courier will also have to deal with the mysterious Ghost People as well as the casino's substantial defense systems."
Fallout: New Vegas will receive the Dead Money DLC on December 21, exclusively on the Xbox 360 for 800 MS Points.
