A series of teasers included in the Dead Money downloadable content for the action and role playing hybrid Fallout: New Vegas suggests that the title might get more content in the near future, with a strong storyline running through it all based around a character called Ulysses.

Dead Money makes quite a few references to a new area called The Big Empty, which could be a heavily bombed space that is devoid of most life and where reconstruction was not attempted.

A non-player character called Christine then talks about another courier that saved her from The Big Empty and apparently wore a flag that matches that of the “Old World,” apparently the same person that appears in the playing card deck that was delivered as part of the Collector's Edition for Fallout: New Vegas.

Fallout: New Vegas main designer Chris Avellone has talked about someone called Ulysses back in November, saying, “There's a character on one of the trading cards, Ulysses, who was supposed to be a companion.”

The only details he delivered were that, “tearing him out of the game was almost as hard as putting him in because companion scripts touch almost everything and he also was a complicated character in terms of some of the hooks into the storyline. Maybe he'll come back at some point. I miss him.”

Ulysses could represent a new force in the balance of power of the Fallout universe and he seems to have a personal connection with the main player controlled character, which might be explored in future content.

Dead Money is at the moment only delivered for the Xbox 360 version of Fallout: New Vegas and neither the developers at Obsidian nor the publishers at Bethesda have said when the experience might be delivered on the PC or on the PlayStation 3.

It's improbable that all future DLC for the New Vegas experience might arrive exclusively on the Xbox 360.
