Fallout: New Vegas Diary - Side Quests and Distractions

Fallout: New Vegas has lots of distractions

Fallout: New Vegas has just been developed by Obsidian and published by Bethesda for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, being the latest installment in the post apocalyptic role playing game franchise.

While the game has been criticized for its many glitches, I want to praise it for the huge amount of side quests available for the player at almost any level throughout the game.

I already spent around 25 hours adventuring through the Mojave Wasteland and I barely even scratched the surface of the main quest line.

Fallout: New Vegas wants you to explore the game world as intended, by progressing through the main quests, but it also offers a huge amount of distractions that, most of the times, will lead you through some hilarious locations.

At the moment, I have a lot of active quests in my PipBoy, but the ability to juggle them all is what makes the game shine.

Sure, I could go to the New Vegas strip to find out why people tried to kill my character, but I have a group of ghouls I want to send into space, an airplane I want to get from the bottom of a lake and I just saw a dinosaur in the middle of a small town that needs investigating.

What I'm trying to say is that even with the glitches and the annoyances regarding some quest triggers, New Vegas still offers a lot of entertainment besides the main quests, which, if you put your mind to it, can all be finished in a relatively short amount of time.

But I don't want that, I want to explore the wasteland, see what there is to see, complete all of the side quests that can be finished and then experience how the main story told by Obsidian in Fallout: New Vegas ends.

Until then, I've got places to explore, non playable characters to loot, quests to complete and companions to recruit.

You're incompetent. The quest you mentioned with the ghouls going into space is taken after you visit the town with the dinosaur. Novac is visited early and is needed to advance the plot. GG

Hey, I was just trying to prove a point about the many different things you can do in the game (ghouls in space) and how unique some of the locations are (hence Novac)

No, you don't have to visit Novac to complete the main story line. Why don't you get your facts straight before you criticize a guy for trying to write a review. I already finished the main story line and Novac isn't even on my map.

It's a great game, but you shouldn't be too * on it until a Obsidian will release an adequate number of patches.
It will supply you with dozens of hours of quality content, but it is still a bit glitchy (although my PC playthrough was pretty much glitch-free, at least for now).
Hope that helped!

Buy the game. If you loved Fallout 3 as I did then I don't think you will be dissapointed. So far I have found it every bit as enjoyable as Fallout 3. Just be sure to save the game on a regular basis beacuse there are quite a few bugs and glitches but I don't think there are any more than Fallout 3 had.

Although the game has some glitches, I find that they are usually triggered by the player rather than randomly. I've clocked up around 14 hours worth of play and have only seen one glitch so far (stealing a certain armour at a certain point in the game will make it stay in your inventory and you will be unable to drop it due to it being a quest item, though I think that it has been patched).

I suggest buying (or renting) it, because the small number of glitches will eventually be fixed and the amount of enjoyment you will get from playing the game will by far out weigh the possibility of something happening.

Exere, you're a * . It's a reveiw for a game and might as well be an add showing off some of the possible quests. Who cares about the chronological * you've thrown on the table?
