Fallout: New Vegas, the latest installment in the popular post-apocalyptic role playing game franchise, will see its first piece of downloadable content arrive exclusively for the Xbox 360 this holiday season.

It seems that Bethesda, the game's publisher, is continuing its partnership with Microsoft and the Xbox 360, as the platform also got DLC for Fallout 3 ahead of other platforms like the PC or PlayStation 3.

Now, the latest installment in the Fallout franchise will also see its first piece of DLC arrive for the Microsoft console, "this holiday season", according to Bethesda.

“We’re excited to continue the partnership between Bethesda and Microsoft, and build on the success of the game add-ons released for Fallout 3 on Xbox LIVE,” said Pete Hines, VP of Marketing and PR of Bethesda Softworks.

“Fans will once again be able to continue their experience in the Fallout universe with the add-on packs planned for after the launch of the game.”

As you can imagine, Microsoft was thrilled that its own platform will be once again treated preferentially by the game publisher.

“Bethesda set a high bar with the quality of the Fallout game add-ons,” said Matt Barlow, General Manager, IEB Product Marketing for Microsoft.

“We have no doubt that gamers will be thrilled with seeing a new add-on pack extend their adventures with Fallout: New Vegas on Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE.”

The same thing happened to the previous Fallout 3, which got its first pieces of DLC released first for the Xbox 360, and then ported over the PC, and after quite a while, to the PlayStation 3.

Fallout: New Vegas is going to be released today in North America, for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Does this new downloadable content announcement change your platform choice or will you still buy it on another platform that isn't the Xbox 360?
