Tim Cain, who is one of the people involved with the original Fallout and one of the co-founders of the Troika Games studio, has moved to Obsidian Entertainment, occupying the position of senior programmer.

Tim Cain is known to gamers as the series producer on the original Fallout titles, two role playing games that have reached cult status and have influenced a number of other designs.

He then moved to Troika Games and worked on such games as Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magicka Obbscura, which was another very innovative role playing game that mixed technology and arcane powers, and Vampire: The Masquerade, a blood sucking powered experience that is still being moded by the faithful fans.

In 2005 Tim Cain moved to the Carbine Studios team, becoming in 2008 the design director working on WildStar, a MMO which is being created under the supervision of NCsoft and will allow players to explore an unknown world using a variety of classes that offer very different experiences.

Tim Cain's move to Obsidian makes sense when taking into account the fact that the studio has recently worked on Fallout: New Vegas for Bethesda, creating a post apocalyptic action role playing game that in many ways surpassed the experience offered by the first two titles in the franchise.

Obsidian has also worked on games like Alpha Protocol, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II, Dungeon Siege III and Neverwinter Nights 2.

At the moment the only project that the developers is confirmed as creating is a video game adaptation of the Wheel of Time books that were written by Robert Jordan.

Red Eagle Games is collaborating on the project.

Tim Cain's move might also mean that a new Fallout game might be planned by Obsidian, presumably in collaboration with Bethesda.

Bethesda is believed to be working on a MMO based on the series.
