Fallout 3 was one of the biggest games of last year, having managed to capture the imagination of gamers all around the world, and was awarded by many websites and critics with the prestigious Game of the Year award.

The whole post-apocalyptic experience was even more enriched by new add-ons that were released by the team at Bethesda, which created the game. Taking various shapes, from a military simulation in Operation Anchorage to a trip into a murky swamp in the more recent Point Lookout, the experiences were extremely interesting.

But the next and final one, at least for now, Mothership Zeta, will most definitely take the proverbial cake, as it will see the Vault Dweller be teleported onto an alien space craft where he will need to duke it out with his abductors and free himself and any other Wasteland survivors being kept prisoners on the ship.

Now, Jeff Gardiner, who has supervised all Fallout 3 DLC up until now, reveals a few more things about this new add-on and about the weapons that will be available to the player on the alien ship. He also says that players will earn a new mission perk, called “Xenotech Expert,” at the end of the DLC. “It increases the damage you do with alien weapons, including the Alien Blaster if the player had found that in the wasteland.”

“Mothership Zeta is full of the most high tech weaponry in the game. It includes a Shock Baton for melee fighters, multiple new firearms including an Alien Atomizer, a pistol, and the Alien Disintegrator, a new rifle. There's also a new grenade type, a Cryo Grenade, which freezes enemies for a short period of time. On top of that there are new unique weapons, and a new heavy weapon.” he adds.

Also, players will have a pretty solid reason to come back to the Mothership after completing the DLC add-on, as an “Alien Epoxy” is found there, which can automatically repair any item by 25%, even if you don't have another duplicate for it.

Bethesda also revealed three more screenshots of the upcoming expansion, in order to generate even more hype before its launch date for the PC and Xbox 360, August 3.
