Seems a bit late

Fallout 3, the post apocalyptic role playing experience from Bethesda, has recently been re-released in a Game of the Year edition, which contains all the patches and expansions the title has received from the developer. Now, the videogame has another award to its name, this one coming from Future Publishing, to justify the GOTY edition.

The Gold Joystick Awards were offered by Future Publishing in London, with Fallout 3 picking up both Ultimate Game of the Year and PC Game of the Year. It might seem like a rather odd moment to again award a game released in late last year but the Golden Joysticks are delivered by public vote to titles launched between May 22, 2008 and May 22, 2009.

Another title that picked up two awards was Call of Duty: World at War, which was given Nintendo Game of the year for its Wii port and MSN Multiplayer Game of the Year. The awards were presented to those titles favored by more than 1.2 million gamers who cast in their votes and they have been around for 27 years, which gives them an added significance.

Another big winner for the night was Activision Blizzard, which picked up five awards in total. It received Publisher of the Year, 2 awards for World at War, Soundtrack of the Year for Guitar Hero World Tour and the One to Watch title for Modern Warfare 2, which the company is set to release on November 10.

Killzone 2 received the award for PlayStation Game of the Year, while Sony scored another hit with LittleBigPlanet, which was named Family Game of the Year. Despite lackluster sales, GTAL Chinatown Wars for the Nintendo DS got the Handheld Game of the Year title.
