The game looks like a reskin of XCOM: Enemy Unknown, so hopefully it will be good

Publisher Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for Falling Skies: The Game, a strategy title that's due out on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this October.

The upcoming title is based on TNT's homonymic science-fiction drama show, and the video game will challenge players to dive into a war-torn world, where they will assume command of a squad of recently rescued survivors, joining the human resistance in the fight to save the planet from an alien invasion.

The team will get involved in various engagements against the alien invaders, rescuing and recruiting survivors to join its ranks, blending the unique storyline that features the most popular characters in the show with turn-based strategic gameplay.

The in-game footage revealed in the video shows the game looking quite similar to Firaxis' recent reboot of XCOM: Enemy Unknown, which turned out to be a big success, so here's hoping that Little Orbit's take on the subject will not prove to be a disappointment.

The game was initially announced for the Nintendo Wii as well, but it now seems that the platform was dropped, as the latest information only pertains to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC systems. Falling Skies is coming out this October.
