Reloaded Productions and GamersFirst have announced that their free-to-play MMO Fallen Earth is getting access to a new update, called Global Territory Control, which will bring with it new game content, more player-created technology and updated areas.

The new area is called The Foothills and is designed for Player versus Player engagements for gamers who are above level 50, with valuable and rare resources offered for the winner.

The update also introduces new mechanics for capturing the new settlements and outposts, with factions with the strongest territorial claims getting a passive buff for many of their abilities.

Gamers can also create Prospectors, to survey for high value areas, and harvesters, which can passively extract materials.

Marie Croall, the lead designer at Reloaded Productions working on Fallen Earth, stated, “Global Territory Control finally gives our faction what they've always wanted - control of the canyon! We've been listening to all the feedback from our players and are proud to finally release GTC and change the face of the Wasteland - so join a faction and join the fight!”
