Google's Cultural Institute is not sitting still. It's been housing several very interesting and important exhibitions, some that have never been shown quite like this ever before.

Now it's commemorating the fall of the Iron Curtain with a series of exhibitions focusing on several Eastern European Countries.

"This Friday is the 23rd anniversary of one of those moments—the fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9, 1989," Google explained.

"To mark this turning point in history, we’re releasing a collection of online exhibitions under the theme of The Fall of the Iron Curtain," it said.

13 new exhibitions, put together by several institutions and documenting the fall of the Berlin wall and the fall of several dictatorships in the region. The DDR Museum in Berlin, the Polish History Museum and the Romanian broadcaster TVR have contributed.

Photos, videos, documents along with descriptions paint a very vivid picture of a period in time many would rather forget.
