ThreatTrack Security experts have come across a website that hosts links to all sorts of shady content.

Besides the numerous banners and advertisements that lead to various installers and toolbars, fbaddicted(dot)info also hosts a page that appears to contain a video of a 14-year-old drunk girl doing something outrageous.

When victims click on the play button to view the video, they’re told that the “VMware Console Remote Plugin is missing,” after which they’re instructed to download and install the said component.

The served file – although it’s named VMWare.exe – has nothing to do with VMware. Instead, it’s a macro, compiled with Jibit Macro Recorded, that’s designed to direct users to a Facebook app.

The Facebook app in question has been removed, likely because it was a fake version of a legitimate application.

Whatever it was, it couldn’t be anything good. That’s why users are advised to avoid this website and bogus VMware plugins.
