Some Tumblr users might be trying to find a way to remove posting limitations. In case you’re one of them, beware, because cybercriminals are advertising a fake tool that claims to do just that.

According to Malwarebytes experts, the “Tumblr Unlimited Posts Extension” is allegedly called Archive Poster. However, The Archive Poster team says it has nothing to do with it.

In fact, they’ve issued an alert to warn users about the bogus application.

“There is no way to remove the post limit, and there never will be. We are not affiliated with anyone who claims they can,” they noted.

Experts say that the extension doesn’t remove any limitations. Instead, it’s designed to harvest the usernames and passwords of unsuspecting users. Once the information is collected, it’s sent back to a server controlled by the phishers.
