The scam ends by promising users a video of their own deaths

It’s been some time since we’ve seen a clever video scam on Facebook, but now cybercrooks return with an original idea. A shady post claims that Osama Bin Laden is not dead and he is planning a new attack.

“OMG OSAMA he is not dead. He is planning new attacks. I would never believe it until I saw this video. GO AND WATCH HERE BEGORE FB DELETED IT [LINK],” reads the phony message.

If the link is clicked, the user is taken to a Facebook page that displays a test which must be completed in order to access the video, informs Bitdefender's Malware City blog.

The test consist of close to 100 Like buttons that must be clicked in 60 seconds, but unlike similar verifications, in this case the victim is also urged to “press Allow”.

The Allow button actually allows a “How you will die” application to gain access to the member’s Facebook information.

At this point, a classic survey scam appears, which is presumably a necessary step to gain access to a video that shows how you die. Can I get a big round of applause for originality?
