Straight hair is now obsolete, as latest trend calls for unbelievable volume

Until not long ago, almost every woman with curly hair wished to have a straight mane, and she worked really hard to achieve it with countless products and many professional “tools.” She can now throw them all away, as the latest trend in terms of ‘do calls for unbelievable volume. However, those with naturally straight hair should not despair either because they can still flaunt it even if they don’t get it, and that’s by faking it, as stylists tell the Daily Mail.

Long hair is a sure hit this season, so take out that elastic band and let the pony tail become just a distant memory. On the same note, long, curly, big hair is the hottest trend of the season, with models from the catwalks and right down to the women in the street sporting it. Faking it is just as easy, as celebrity stylists say, and all we need is just a couple of helpers that we can buy from any specialized beauty store or even supermarket near us.

For starters, to achieve curly, voluminous hair (provided we don’t have it already), we need the proper “tools.” Tongs and curlers are, of course, a must, but so are other things we should include on our next shopping list.

“To achieve a glamorous look, you need a good-quality round bristle brush, a powerful drier, a root booster product and a strong hairspray. Apply the product to the roots, then take big sections and blow-dry the roots away from the head. Let the brush cool and go on to the next section. By taking large sections you will get volume, rather than curl. Then hold the hair away from the head and spray.” stylist Ian Broderick tells the aforementioned publication.

Another option would be, of course, hair extensions – in case that we have is too little to work with. Granted, they’re more expensive than other hair products we may buy at the supermarket, but they’re also longer lasting and more fabulous, stylists add. Plus, they would help us not spend hours in front of the mirror each morning, desperately trying to make our hair look bigger than it actually is.

“The only foolproof way to give depth, body and volume to fine hair is with extensions. For anyone searching for fullness that lasts, it is a brilliant option. I use Great Lengths hair extensions all the time for shoots, TV commercials and on celebrities.” hairdresser Michael Douglas explains.

Using body building hair products (maximizers) and simply blow-drying the hair upside down, with the heat directed straight at the roots, is also an excellent way of achieving volume where there is none naturally. After the procedure, we should apply a strong hairspray to make the ‘do last longer, stylists stress, and we’re set for the day with a gorgeous big hairstyle.
