Users should wait for the official app to become available for download

Not long ago, Canadian mobile phone maker BlackBerry announced the upcoming availability of the BlackBerry Messenger service to more mobile platforms out there, including Android and iOS, but no official details on the release date have been provided as of now.

However, it appears that a fake website that allegedly serves beta builds of the BBM app for Android and iOS has been launched recently, and that it is, in fact, packed with malware.

Although it offers iOS .ipa and Android .apk files for download, the website is not legit, CrackBerry notes, and users should stay away from it, as they might infect their computers when accessing it.

BBM will indeed arrive on these mobile OSes, and BlackBerry will make it available through its official channels. We’ll keep an eye on its arrival too, so stay tuned to learn more on when it is coming.
