Gumtree is an online classified ads website which is very popular in the UK, as it is now one of the top 30 sites in the country, and as its popularity grows, more and more absurd items are being put up for sale.

Some of the items people listed on the online sales site would easily make it to the top ten useless products no one should ever buy. A 1,000-piece puzzle of Venice already glued together, a roofless shed, a used toothbrush, and the moon are only some examples of ridiculous products advertised on Gumtree.

Sometimes, it seems that people are listing unusual objects just to see if anyone would be interested in buying them. Surprisingly though, even the most weird and ridiculous items are attracting some potential buyers.

One advert on the website, for instance, is trying to sell a used toothbrush. The seller, from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, is asking 99p ($1.67 or €1.21), and guarantees it will “leave a nice fresh finish” to teeth, as mentioned by Metro.

Another seller is offering a free sycamore tree, with the only condition that the buyer came to dig it up himself. The ad mentions that the tree is around 50 to 60 feet (15 to 18 meters) and says it could serve for “nice garden furniture” or “fire wood.”

Gumtree was founded in March 2000 as a local London classified ads and community site, and currently has about 8 million visitors a month.
