14 DAY TRIAL // After a few rumors and a leaked confirmation, Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered is official and already available for purchase, with Aspyr Media announcing that it's overhauled the classic game and that the new title is now available on PC, Mac, Linux, and iOS, while there are no plans for a debut on PS4 or Xbox One.
Fahrenheit (aka Indigo Prophecy in North America) impressed many different players back in 2005, when it appeared from developer Quantic Dream on the PC, PS2, and original Xbox. The title soon reached cult status and helped Quantic Dream go on to make titles like Heavy Rain or Beyond: Two Souls.
The remastered game isn't coming to home consoles
Now, after 10 years since the initial release, the game is making a comeback through Aspyr Media, which, with the blessing of Quantic Dream, has overhauled it and will re-release it across the PC, Mac, Linux, and iOS platforms.
The announcement has been made official on the website, and in a comprehensive FAQ, Aspyr confirms that an Android version is also on the way. Unfortunately for owners of the PS4 or Xbox One, not to mention old consoles like PS3 or Xbox 360, Aspyr mentions that there are no plans to bring Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered on those platforms.
The game is already available
The game is now available on the aforementioned platforms for $9.99 / €8.99 / £6.99, and Aspyr highlights just how much work it's done on overhauling the visuals. According to the studio, the texture details and the image resolutions have been widely expanded from the original 1024x768 to 2880x1800.
While the game looks the same across all platforms, the textures are a bit smaller in size on the iOS devices due to platform restrictions. Besides that, all versions of the game come with controller support and the mobile editions also have a custom touchscreen control scheme.
