It might see a price cut when the Lumia 900 hits shelves

Nokia’s Lumia 800 is available for purchase in the United States unlocked via various retailers around the country, including Amazon, which has it for $534.99 (410 Euros), unlocked.

In fact, Nokia’s first Windows Phone device has been available at Amazon with this price attached to it for the past few months.

For the time being, Lumia 800 remains the most appealing Windows Phone device from Nokia, but things might soon change.

AT&T is gearing up for the release of Lumia 900, the LTE-capable Windows Phone device that Nokia made official back in January during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Packing a larger touchscreen display and enhanced connectivity capabilities, the Lumia 900 will certainly prove more eye-catching, even if it offers support only for AT&T’s network.

Lumia 900’s launch, which, according to the latest reports around the web, might have been delayed to April 22nd, could determine US retailers to slash the price tag for last year’s Windows Phone device from Nokia.

This is only a guess for the time being, but it might not be too long before confirmation on the matter emerges.

While users in the United States can purchase the smartphone for the same price tag as in January, people in India have it for much less. Nokia has slashed its price in the country a few days ago, making it $465 (23,590 INR), 20 percent less than before.

The price drop might have been determined by the recent unveiling of the International flavor of Nokia Lumia 900 at the Mobile World Congress. The device is expected to arrive in various markets around the world soon, and users in India will also receive it.

In the meantime, we should note that Nokia still has to push the Lumia 800 (and the more affordable Lumia 710, for that matter) to more markets around the world.
