Funny, yet somewhat weird

OK, so a lot of people thought that the Mickey Mouse MP3 player from iRiver was really cute. We think the same, since it was a very funny idea to place a music player in such a body and combine the world-renowned figure of the cartoon character with one of the best names in portable music players around. And after receiving eyes, it looks like the Mplayer has also received facial expressions. Still, a funny idea, though looking rather weird this time.

How about 8 different facial expressions that will automatically change as you operate your portable music player? This could be cool, but we think that such a feature is pretty much a thing for the user alone.

Why? Because the expressions change as you press some control button; and this means that the MP3 player is in your hand, facing you and you're the only one able to see its "face." And if all you wanted was to see your MP3 player smiling or winking at you, then this new version of the iRiver Mickey Mouse is the greatest thing that could ever happen to you. Though you could keep your old MP3 player and get a Tamagochi, because they are way more fun; and smarter, and more interactive.

Nevertheless, the idea is totally cute and, as far as the designer is concerned, adding a little “personality” to the MP3 player is something everyone will welcome. And an even nicer feature is the fact that various actions – whether you twist Mickey Mouse's ears to skip tracks or shuffle through them or adjust the volume up or down – will trigger different expressions. If you're planning to go funky with your music player, you should definitely replace your old MP3 player with the new Mickey Mouse from iRiver. Furthermore, if you plan to make a cute gift to someone, you could also go for this one. In with the happy players, out with the sober ones! At least for now.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
