Facebook's New WordPress Plugin Is Everything You Need for Social Blogging

With Facebook wanting to be everything to everyone and, at the very least, wanting to be included into anything, sites, apps, games, it's easy to get the impression that Facebook simply wants to be the web.

In a rare sign that it recognizes that there's anything else out there, Facebook has introduced the new Facebook for WordPress plugin.

The plugin makes it easy to cross-post stuff from your blog to your Facebook profile and even has cool additions like the ability to tag Facebook friends from the WordPress editor and have the post show up on their Timeline.

Facebook provides several other widgets as well, such as the Activity Feed or Recommendations. There's also the option of customizing and adding Like, Subscribe and Send buttons.

Probably the most interesting widget though is the comment box, which enables you to add a comments section to your site which requires users to authenticate with Facebook.
