Today, Microsoft and Facebook announced a series of enhancements brought to the mobile client that Windows Phone users take advantage of when accessing the social networking website.

The enhancements that have been included in the new mobile client are based on the feedback received from users, a recent post on Facebook explains.

The new flavor of the mobile application, namely version 2.3, arrives in the Windows Phone Marketplace today, available for download for free for all supported devices.

“We have been listening to your feedback. I am pleased to announce that we will be releasing a new version of Facebook for Windows Phone to marketplace today,” the said post reads.

With the new application release, users will be able to access all the features and capabilities that the social networking destination has to offer to them.

There are performance enhancements to the news feed, along with new filters to take advantage of, and better navigation, among others.

At the same time, the development team behind the mobile software took its time to solve certain issues that the application was plagued by before.

“Test out your groups. Visit your pages. Look at who likes your posts. Change the banner image. Check out the improved news feed performance. Use the new filters. Explore the improved navigation,” the said post on Facebook reads.

The release notes for the mobile application include:

News feed performance improvements New panorama design. New profile design. Banner Images. Improved navigation. Pages Groups View “likes”. Feed filters. Posting privacy. Bug fixing

Users who would like to benefit from all these enhancements should head over to the Windows Phone Marketplace to download the application on their devices.

If the new version of the app does not appear there in the first place, don’t panic. It will be available in a short period of time.
