Windows Phone 8 users seem to be affected by the same crash bug as well

There is some good and some bad news for Windows Phone users who are taking advantage of Facebook features on a regular basis. Microsoft has just released a new update for both Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 versions of Facebook, which is good news for users.

The bad news is that the application crashes often post update. If you are using a Windows Phone 8.1 handset, you should see that an update to version 8.1.6.0 is available for download via Windows Phone Store.

In case you still rock a Windows Phone 8.0 device, your Facebook application should be eligible for an update to version 5.2.6.0 through Windows Phone Store.

However, we do not recommend Windows Phone users to update to the latest version of Facebook yet, unless they want to experience frequent crashes.

There are many users who continue to report the update affected Facebook in a bad way and that they are now unable to use the application.

There’s no telling when exactly Microsoft will fix the issue, but we hope developers will at least pull the update from the store, so less users will be affected from the crash bug(s). We will keep an eye out for any additional info on the matter, so stay tuned for more details.
