A new flavor of Facebook for Android was recently released into the wild, namely Facebook 1.6 for Android, with a nice range of new features added into the mix. The new flavor of the application is expected to become available for download in the not too far future, with new features and bug fixes included into the mix.

For the time being, the new release is available only for a handful of beta testers, as the development team behind Facebook Android made it available only in beta and only for a few of them.

However, as soon as the private beta period ends, more users should enjoy access to the application, to download and install it on their devices.

Unlike the latest flavor of the mobile software, version 1.5.4, which arrived only with a bag full of bug fixes, the new release comes with a series of other enhancements as well.

In Facebook 1.6 for Android, users would be able to like comments that they see in their news views.

Moreover, the mobile application would offer them the possibility to easily view Pages, as well as Profiles.

Another important addition in the new Facebook for Android would be the ability to upload videos from within the application.

The new application release comes with various other improvements as well, in addition to a series of bug fixes, all of which were meant to ensure that users receive a great experience from the software.

The Facebook Android development team recruited beta testers from among Reddit users, sign-up link has been already removed.

However, it seems that the software might go public within the next few weeks, provided that all goes according to plan.

As stated above, the previously released flavor of the application was Facebook for Android 1.5.4, which is available for download through the Android Market here.
