A new flavor of the popular Facebook application is now available for download for the owners of devices running under Google’s Android operating system.

Providing users with the possibility to stay on top of what’s new on the social networking site, as well as with the option to post updates about themselves, the application comes with a series of enhancements meant to offer a better experience to all Android users.

Those who download the new app release, available as version 1.9.10 on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, will take advantage of a new design for conversations in Messages, Facebook announced.

Moreover, a new button will be available for them in the upper right of News Feed, so that users can see who of their friends is available for chat.

Another enhancement packed inside the new application release was meant to allow users to see who is active when sending a message. Thus, both the user and friends will know how fast a reply to their message will arrive.

Facebook for Android also provides users with the possibility to easily sort their feed, through tapping the button next to News Feed in the left sidebar.

Various other improvements have also been included in the new application release, all meant to make the application more secure and to increase its reliability.

According to the team of developers behind the app, there is also a series of fixes for the errors that users have been receiving when selecting multiple photos.

Issues that caused devices to restart have been resolved as well, along with a series of bugs found to affect applications’ push notifications capabilities.

Those who already had Facebook installed on their Android devices should receive a notification on the availability of the new update. Users who haven’t installed the app as of yet can find it in Google Play Store via this link.
