Android fans around the world have now at least two more reasons to rejoice, as two new applications are available for their devices on the Android Market. The first of them is a Facebook application, which has been introduced to the Android Market in a rather silent manner, while the second is a Pandora app, which brings the Internet radio service to the Android-based handsets.

The Facebook application that has been just added to the software portal for Google's Android operating system has been expected to become available for quite some time now, and it has finally made its appearance. Those who first spotted the app on the Android Market reported that it stated it wasn't developed by Facebook, yet an article on moconews shows that this is the official software solution.

Facebook's interest in the mobile phone area can be easily understood, considering that the company has just announced reaching 65 million mobile users. The social networking site is becoming increasingly popular among cellphone owners, and the Android app should be received with great applause by most of them. The video below shows you how the app works.

Here's how moconews describes the application: “The Facebook Android app does a good job at what Android does well. It alerts you to new comments on the Android notification drop-down window. It also allows you to click on a link from a browser and send it to your Facebook page—without ever loading the app. Pictures are also easily uploaded. The widget is big, but it does allow you to see the most recent status updates and place a call without loading the heftier version.”

As for the second app available for Android, Pandora Radio, it enables users to create their own free, personalized radio and to stream music on their handsets. The application is reportedly working quite great, sports integration with Pandora on the web and allows existing Pandora users to enjoy their already created stations on their Android phone. According to Pandora, the new app can be used on T-Mobile G1, HTC Hero on Sprint and T-Mobile myTouch 3G, but more devices will be added to the list in the near future.
