Some conversation enhancements have been added too

Shortly after Microsoft announced it would shut down Facebook integration in Windows Phone for all apps and services that are using the feature, the social network company released a new version of Messenger in Windows Phone.

The latest update for Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone bumps the application to version 10.0.0, but is kind of low on improvements and new features.

Although the Windows Phone version of Messenger is a bit behind in terms of design and functionality in comparison its counterparts on Android and iOS, Facebook continues to release important updates that are meant to close the gap between apps.

However, the newest update for Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone doesn't bring any new features into the mix. Instead, it adds some conversation improvements and performance enhancements for stickers.

Stickers should now load much faster

According to the official changelog, with Facebook Messenger 10.0.0, Windows Phone users will be able to view details and adjust settings for any conversation.

For example, they will be able to see who’s in the conversation and tap to view their Facebook profile. In addition, they can also manage notification settings, add people to the conversation and adjust the name or photo of a group.

Facebook also confirmed that it implemented some under-the-hood enhancements, so stickers should now load faster and more reliably.

There's no mention of any other bug fixes of improvements included in the update, but we suspect Facebook might have addressed some minor issues as well. We expect more updates for Messenger to be released in Windows Phone Store in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for more details.

If you don't have the application installed yet, you can now download Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone for free via Windows Phone Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
