Cybercriminals win money each time a user participates in the poll

One of the latest Facebook scams is cleverly designed to trick users into participating in a survey by promising free iTunes codes and iTunes card codes.

“Free iTunes Codes – Free iTunes Card Codes. Get your free iTunes card pin codes here for free! Supplies are limited so get yours before we run our!” reads the shady message that’s making the rounds on the social media network.

Those who fall for it and click on the link are taken to a Free iTunes Giftcard Codes website on which the victim must follow a number of steps before presumably obtaining the “prize.”

The user is asked to Like the page and share it on Facebook. When, finally, the “redeem code” is presented, it’s missing four digits. These remaining digits can be allegedly obtained by completing a survey.

As in all such cases, the crooks make money each time someone completes the survey, but the prizes are never won by anyone, no matter how accurately they follow the instructions.
