One of the latest Facebook scams lures users into taking surveys with the promise of revealing ten things that adults never tell their kids.

Spam messages sent from the profiles of people who fell victims to this trick read "10 Things Adults NEVER Tell Their Kids !!" and contain a link to a rogue Facebook page.

The page is part of a multi-step kind of survey scam during which users are asked to perform several tasks before the promised content is revealed.

The first step is to Like the page, which will obviously help promote it to the victim's friends and family members through notifications on their walls.

The next step is even more intrusive and involves sharing the link to the page along with the message previously mentioned.

Unfortunate users who go this far without questioning the credibility of this scam will be redirected to a Web page hosted at blogspot.

However, before being allowed to view any content a "Security Check" window pops up and asks them to take an online survey, allegedly in order to verify that they are human.

"[…] The scammers earn commision for every survey completed. A nice little earner for them, and you've just increased their chances of making more cash by forwarding their link to others," Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at Sophos, warns.

"Don't make life easy for the scammers, and refuse to promote these survey scams. Always question what you are 'liking' and 'sharing' with your online friends," the security expert advises.

In addition to earning money through affiliate marketing, these surveys are used to collect personal information, which is later used in targeted advertising campaigns.

Some of the offers also ask victims for their phone number and trick them into subscribing to premium rate mobile services.
