Scammers have set up several fake “Camaro Competition” Facebook pages. The crooks are promising a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro to one “lucky individual” who likes their page, shares a photo and comments on it.

The bogus posts read something like this:

“For the first time ever in facebook history we are giving away a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro to one winner that we will select on October 25th completely at random.

Would you like to join this amazing giveaway for a chance to own a brand new Camaro ? Simply follow the following steps to enter the competition :

1) Step 1 - Like our Fanpage

2) Step 2 - Share this photo

3) Step 3 - Comment below your desired color: blue, yellow or red

Good Luck everyone!”

As always, no one wins the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro. The scammers have set up the Facebook pages hoping to increase their value by getting unsuspecting users to like them.

So far, we’ve spotted six different Camaro Competition scam pages. Each of them has already harvested between 2,000 and 6,400 likes.

Later, the cybercrooks can repurpose them to advertise all sorts of shady products and websites, or they can sell them on the underground market to others.

We’ve reported all the scam pages to Facebook and hopefully, they’ll be taken down. In the meantime, don’t trust such promotions. Unless it’s announced on the company’s official Facebook page, it’s unlikely that anyone’s getting a free car.

If you’ve already liked one of the fake Chevrolet Camaro pages, unlike them and remove the post you’ve shared on your timeline before your friends get tricked too.

Last week, we warned about a similar scam in which users were promised the chance to win a 2013 Ford Mustang.
