Ever since it was launched in 2004, Facebook has undoubtedly changed and evolved to the benefit of its users, improving privacy and features, as well as becoming more and more stable. The latest enhancement deals with embedding a “Subscribe via RSS” option to Pages.

This newly-added link can be accessible at the bottom left side of each Facebook Page, beneath the profile picture.

While it might not seem like a very important addition, the feature will be appreciated by those who would like to subscribe to feeds of wall posts of specific Pages.

There are a lot of avid Internet users who rely on feed readers to keep updated with the latest news in various domains, and being able to monitor wall posts of Facebook Pages will surely be welcomed.

In other words, users will no longer need to login to Facebook then browse to the Page in order to get the latest bits of information.

On the other hand, whenever access to facebook.com happens to be banned, one will still be able to read certain wall posts via the RSS feed they subscribed to, thus bypassing the restriction.

The fact that Facebook developers have decided to implement this feature seems to suggest that a lot of users want to keep in touch with their favorite Pages.

It can even be assumed that this feature might have been requested by users who prefer RSS over the JSON-based API feeds commonly used by Facebook.

Moreover, one will notice that a limited number of Pages still offer the possibility to “Subscribe via SMS” along with the RSS one, allowing the user to choose the method that suits them best.

Facebook is currently the most popular social network worldwide so its users will most likely request even more options for sharing links, uploading images or setting status messages.

In other words, improvement and innovation will constantly be required when updating the functions of Facebook.
