Facebook is rolling out a new profile page with quite a few changes. The revamp aims to provide a more natural way of displaying information about you. The new profile page will be available to everyone eventually and you can activate it right now if you want.

"Today I'm excited to introduce you to some improvements we've made to the Facebook profile, so now it's even easier for you to tell your story and learn about your friends," Josh Wiseman, a Facebook software engineer, announced.

"The profile begins with a quick overview of basic information such as where you're from, where you went to school, and where you work," he explained.

"And since there's often no better way to learn about a person than through photos, the profile now includes a row of recently tagged photos of you," he added.

These two features are the biggest, or at least the most noticeable, changes of the revamp. The first things anyone are going to notice are the snippets of information at the top of the page. These provide a brief but comprehensive overview of who you are and what you've done so far, a very summarized bio.

The new emphasis on photos comes from the success the feature has had on the site. Ever since they were introduced, photos have constantly been one of the main attractions and have turned Facebook into the largest photo sharing site on the web, by a huge margin.

On the left, your friends will be listed, as well as the members of your family. You can customize this by creating groups of "featured friends" or choosing to highlight existing friends lists.

The Info page has also been revamped. The existing information is better displayed, things like education and work, and there's a bigger focus on interests, music, movies, books and so on.

The new profile page complements a couple of recent revamps. The photos section has seen a major update not so long ago. The Friendship Pages, rolled out a little over a month ago, is also easier to find now and you'll see a link to it on the right whenever you're visiting a friend's profile.

The new profile pages are being rolled out now, but if you can't wait any longer, you can visit this link and activate the new feature now.
