Microsoft’s apps are losing ground in the Windows Store

Facebook continues to experience a terrific success in the Windows Store, with thousands of users turning to this official client to chat with friends and share photos on their walls.

The official Facebook client for Windows 8.1 is at this point the number one free app in the Windows Store, ahead of other popular programs released by Microsoft itself.

For example, Facebook took the first spot ahead of Hangman Pro, Netflix, Google Search, 3rd Floor Word Search, and Microsoft Solitaire Collection, some of which have been in the store for months.

Others, on the other hand, have only arrived on Windows 8 quite recently, so expect more changes to occur in these rankings in the coming weeks.

One thing is for sure though: more high-quality apps are reaching the store, so Microsoft is slowly but surely reaching its goal to provide users with a plethora of Modern apps.
