A cool-looking Facebook login page that promises users access to content related to the Real Madrid Football Club, one of the most popular clubs in the world, is likely to attract a lot of people. Cybercriminals are relying on this in an attempt to trick Facebook members into handing over their credentials.

Symantec experts have spotted a fake Facebook login page that purports to be the “Facebook Real Madrid Login.”

After they enter their username and password, victims are taken to the real Facebook community page of the Real Madrid Football Club. This is done to avoid raising any suspicion.

However, in the meantime, their credentials are sent to a server controlled by the cybercriminals.

The crooks can use the information to gain unauthorized access to the victims’ accounts and abuse them for spam campaigns and other malicious operations.

To protect yourself against such scams, make sure that you only enter your credentials on legitimate facebook.com websites that are protected by a secure “https” connection.
