Actions taken against the site

Finally, I see someone taking actions against the misleading declarations that sites usually make. Not once have people been fooled into believing that something is good just because it said so on a website, and again, not once did the website owners argue that in their opinion that particular product was good and that it all depends on the point of view. Now, just to understand what the Facebook case is all about - it's not that Facebook somewhat lacks security that bothered New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo. A lot of sites have security issues, but nobody questions them - thing is Facebook stated it had great security, when it actually had a couple of issues.

"We said, 'You have got to make accurate representations on your website", said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because court filings haven't yet been made. "What we told them is, 'Correct the language describing the site and stop marketing yourself as this pristine website' ... parents have a misimpression. You can't mislead people.", is stated in the Declaration from The Sydney Morning Herald.

This just shows that some people are watching what goes on over the web, and if they can't take down all the bad guys, at least they're making sure the good dudes do things accordingly. Of course, nobody would have known about Facebook's issues, if it weren't for the investigators that tested the site. As the SMH further informs - law enforcers have been posing as 12 to 14-year-olds and they have been solicited for sex, on Facebook. And that was only part of the problem, since the real issue came after the investigators sent complaints to Facebook, which did not respond. So, the real problem was the fact that they didn't attend to this issue. However, Facebook is cooperative and is bound to make a change in their systems, so, at least from now on, things are heading for the best!
