Windows Phone 8.1 early adopters who encountered issues when trying to use the dedicated Facebook Messenger application developed by the social network giant will be pleased to know that there's a new update that might fix the problems.

First of all, the latest update for Messenger brings new features that will make user experience more streamlined. Some under the hood improvements have been included as well, but no other details have been shared on this one.

Anyway, the new version of Facebook Messenger features Groups support, which means that users will now be able to create groups for the people they message most. These groups can be named, or users can also set group photos and keep them all in one place.

In addition, developers have confirmed that they have included a new feature called instant photo sharing, which allows users to take a photo and send it in just one tap. Moreover, Facebook has also improved the way users send photos from their gallery to make it easier and faster.

Last but not least, Facebook engineers claim that they will continue to offer improvements via updates, as they are currently working to make the application more reliable and use less data.

You can now download Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone 5.0.0 for free via Windows Phone Store. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
