Facebook Messenger is among the most popular messaging applications for Android devices. However, since the launch of the software users have been complaining that the application is plagued by various bugs.

Although developers constantly update Facebook Messenger, there still aresome things that need to be ironed out. For example, it looks like one of the updates removed the notification that told you if your friends read the message you sent.

Today, Facebook Messenger received a new update that brings smileys, hearts and more emoji to messages. In addition, users will now be able to click the person's name at the top of their conversation to view their Facebook Timeline.

Users can also see who's active at any time, so they will know when to expect a reply to their messages. Obviously, the update also contains a fair share of bug fixes.

Facebook Messenger 1.9.003 is now available as a free download via Google Play Store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.2 and up.
