With just a few hours left until the release of Facebook Home launched for Android devices, a new update for Facebook Messenger has been released on Google Play.

Although it does not seem to be related to the upcoming launch of Facebook Home, the update brings a new feature that improves user overall experience.

With the latest version of Facebook Messenger, users will be able to take advantage of the Chat Heads feature, which allows them to keep chatting even when they are using other applications.

Simply tap the chat head that you wish to reply to or drag it down to close it. Aside from this neat feature, Facebook has also included some bug fixes that have yet to be detailed.

Facebook Messenger is now available as a free download via Google Play Store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.2 and up. Check it out here.
