An updated build of the Facebook Messenger application is now available for download for the owners of Android-based devices, namely version 3.3.1.

The new software release is not accompanied by a changelog, and there’s no telling on what was changed inside it, though users should enjoy various fixes and improvements.

Facebook Messenger was launched as a complementary application for the official Facebook client, providing users with the possibility to easily stay in touch with their friends on the social network, all without launching the full Facebook application.

“Messenger is a fast, free and reliable way to stay in touch. It's just like texting, but you don't have to pay for every message (it works with your data plan),” Facebook explains.

The application offers support for Group chats and also allows users to easily send photos to their friends, or to share their location.
