Starting today, the new Facebook Gifts service supports iTunes gifting, meaning you can surprise someone with a cool album, or a useful app (or game) from the iTunes Store.

Facebook announced this week that “you can instantly gift your friends iTunes digital gifts and recommend albums, movies, games, apps, and more available on the iTunes Store.”

Users can either search for a specific song or album to recommend, or let their friend decide. When the choice is made, all that remains to be done is choose the iTunes digital gift ranging from $10 / €7.6 to $50 / €38.4.

However, Facebook Gifts is all about picking out the perfect gift and shipping it to someone. So while the iTunes gifting feature is a nice touch, the service really makes sense when you pick a nice plush toy and have it shipped to your girlfriend’s door.

She’ll be notified instantly via the Facebook iPhone app, and she can even enter her own shipping info, choose a different size or color, etc. “Your beautifully packaged gift gets delivered right to your friend's door,” Facebook confirms.
